The Aspen Advisor Week in Review for April 13, 2018

Acceptance letters are starting to come in and students are facing a difficult decision—which law school should they attend? Should they choose the school that offers the best scholarship, the school with the highest ranking, the school in the city where they plan to work and live, or some other factor they haven’t considered? In the article, “How Law Schools and JD Applicants Find That Love Connection,” first year law students and law school administrators weigh in on how to make the right decision for you. One piece of advice, it would not be advisable to pick a school that is on the American Bar Association’s list for not meeting their accreditation requirements. Two new schools have been added to that list. Speaking of the ABA, there are a few articles this week debating whether or not the GRE is an acceptable assessment to use for law school admission. The battle between the LSAT vs. GRE wages on. No longer under debate is whether unauthorized or counterfeit versions of textbooks is legal. It was encouraging to see Wiley, Cengage, Pearson and McGraw-Hill Education win their multimillion-dollar lawsuit against a seller of fake textbooks. Last but not least, don’t miss Iesha Champ’s viral law school graduation photo. This single mom of five is truly inspiring!
