Lori Rassas
Lori B. Rassas, Esq., has more than two decades of experience working on em- ployment and labor issues and more than 15 years of experience teaching stu- dents of all levels. She received an LL.M. in Labor and Employment Law from New York University Law School, a J.D. from the George Washington University Law School, and a B.A. from Tufts University. She is also certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), and is a trained mediator and arbi- trator and the author of a number of books on workplace matters.
Throughout her career, the author has provided extensive legal and human resources guidance and counsel on all phases of the employment process to both employers and employees. She has developed a pragmatic approach to the navi- gation of employment relationships that is derived from her experience working to resolve complex legal issues that have arisen on both sides of the bargaining table. Her current and prior employers include the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Columbia University, and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (now SAG-AFTRA), among others. She also has her own HR consulting practice, through which she coaches job seekers on how to effectively navigate the workplace, offers live and web-based training workshops, and provides guid- ance on human resources matters
Not only does the author’s vast practical experience inform this textbook, but her work as an adjunct faculty member also provides additional perspec- tives. She has taught at a number of prestigious institutions, including Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health, Columbia University’s School of Professional Studies, Fordham University School of Law, The Scheinman Insti- tute on Conflict Resolution at Cornell University, Berkeley College, and Excelsi- or College, among others.
