Working as an intern at the Anytown, USA law firm of Murphy, Miller & Dorn the student will be introduced to the many issues that can arise when a client suffers damages from a breach of a contract that wasn’t drafted by a lawyer.
During his days at the office, the student will encounter avatars of law office personnel and through video and audio meetings with them, learn how to research and analyze problems related to contract enforcement and how to draft correspondence, memoranda and contracts within the context of the client file.
Among the skills The Law Simulation Series: Contract Law will develop and refine are:
- Understanding the role of the paralegal in the delivery of legal services for a business client
- Understanding contracts as they relate to business law and business relationships
- Understanding of the different types of documents and types of planning inherent in contract law
- Understanding of the ethical responsibilities applicable to the practice of contract and business law
- Ability to perform legal research relevant to contract law
- Ability to draft legal documents relating to contract law
- Ability to perform critical analysis of client legal issues
- Ability to practice effective time management
